July 18, 2005 PC Magazine reviews iTunes 4.9 and gives it a very good rating based on its newly included ability to download Podcasts. iTunes makes it easy as 1-2-3 to hear your favorite podcasts. Best of all the podcasts are free. PC Magazine rates the service a 4 (out of 5) and says,
“Online podcast directory makes it easy to find shows you’ll like. Impressive management features. As with competitors, software and podcasts are free.”

Personal Note: I’ve been using iTunes to purchase music on the Web for over a year now. I’m delighted with being able to purchase the individual song or piece of music I love (instead of purchasing the entire album to get my preferred tune). I’ve put together a couple of collections; soft rock, aerobic, jazz. I can copy them to CD and take them with me. I look forward to browsing the list of podcasts and selecting the ones I’d like to hear. I’ve found iTunes to be a “gentle” introduction to this new technology. No commercials or pop-ups. Try it. You’ll like it.
