I’m happy to announce the launch of a new WordPress website for Cassidy Law in Bolton, MA.
The website highlights Cassidy Law’s practice areas for businesses and families & individuals while conveying Maryann’s calm and trustworthy manner and projecting Cassidy Law’s “can-do” and “we meet you where you’re at” attitude that converts visitors to customers.
Cassidy Law is a start-up law firm serving both businesses and individuals. For businesses, the firm specializes in real estate and other legal services for real estate developers. For individuals, Cassidy Law handles legal matters related to real estate and estate planning.
Maryann’s Journey
Maryann Cassidy connected with me shortly after deciding to start her own law firm. Unlike many entrepreneurs, starting her own law firm was not a life-long dream of Maryann’s. No. Starting her own law firm was Maryann’s response to being laid off as a result of her law firm deciding to close. They had been in business for over 50 years, so, to say that it was unexpected, is the under statement of the century!
Armed with 30+ years of practicing law in Massachusetts, Maryann decided to make lemonade out of the lemons she had been dealt; She started Cassidy Law!
Cassidy Law in Bolton MA
First order of business was to put together a team. Maryann contacted two of her favorite business colleagues she had worked with in recent years. Michelle and Kevin came on board!
Next, she wanted to let people know about her new business. She contacted a trusted lawyer friend for direction. He told her that the best way to fast-track getting known was to establish a presence on the web by having a website developed, and having it developed by a person who adds SEO to the website as it is being built. Naturally, he referred her to me!
Yes, adding SEO to a website as it is being built is one of my distinguishing factors. I don’t know any other website developers who do that as a matter of course. My reasoning is: why would you have a website if you were not interested in getting found? So, many years ago, I learned SEO, and have been adding it to my clients’ websites ever since so that I could contribute to them get found over their competition.
The WordPress Website Project
Overall Goals: Create a neat, clean website that is easy to navigate, with design and content elements that convey honesty, integrity, and trust all within a calm and professional atmosphere.
Highlight: Services, flexibility, virtual and paperless processing,
Target: Commercial real estate developers and families and individuals
Tone: Professional legal for businesses while still a “lawyer for the people”
Message: “We meet you where you’re at” with a “ Can-do attitude”
Design: Neat, clean, easy to navigate
Images: Reflect reality, minimal use of stock photos
I loved working on this project, especially because Maryann took an active role! She and I worked together over several months to:
- Strategize about messaging, content and image-to-content presentation
- Strategize about creating an easy and understandable journey for visitors
- Perfect the wording
- Clarify information using content segmentation, content labeling, and content ordering
- Ensure easy access to information via an intuitive menu design that guides the visitor along their journey
- Choose images that conveyed the essence of Maryann and Cassidy Law. (Maryann took or contributed most of the header images that display on the website with the exception of 3-4 stock photos and some photos in blog posts.)
The result is a WordPress website that Maryann is proud of—one that genuinely reflects both her and Cassidy Law, and empowers her to update it independently. A true win-win!
